Water Towers – Kuwait

Thirty-three mushroom shaped water towers together hold 102,000 cubic meters of water was constructed in Kuwait 1970-1976. The Kuwait Water Towers received the Aga Khan Architecture Award for buildings constructed before 1980.

VBB chief architect Sune Lindström had five groups of water towers built of the same type as his noted “Mushroom” in Örebro, Sweden. Each tower holds 3,000 cubic meters of water.
