Oil Platform – Ninian Oil Field, UK
At the time, Ninian Central Oil Platform was the world’s largest gravity structure (440,000 tons). The structure is 140 m in diameter at its base, with seven concentric walls of stepped heights intersected by radial walls. The central shaft is 14 m wide and surrounded by a breakwater wall 45 m in diameter and 1.6 m thick pierced with 1.5 m diameter holes. 1950 nos of our slipform jacks were used.
